Otter Scout Saying #7

I was first the kid in Little River, Maine to fall down an open mine shaft.

I fell for what seemed like hours, tumbling to the bottom, pitch black all around me. The good news? I had my trusty flashlight with fresh batteries. The bad news? I wasn’t sure there was a way out of this mess.

Then I remembered Otter Scout saying #7: "where there's a will, there's a way." So I searched the bottom of the hole in a methodical manner, looking for a way to escape.
