  • Once they achieved critical mass the motley crew began their march into the bog, a natural leader emerging in Zelda Southgate. It was dark before they found the smoke signals they were looking for.

  • Zelda spotted the wisps on the distant mountaintop. “They’re ready,” she said. Deeper into the bog, a giant tower emerged from the mist. “We can rest there for the night. But we will have to be quiet.” The rest of the group trudged through the muck with considerable apprehension.

  • Cranberry bogs weren't for the faint of heart. They're cold and viscous with the sugary cranberry runoff. Without your slick rubber waders, you can damn near get stuck. Zelda and the gang needed to get to the mountaintop while there was still time. They continued forward.

  • The cranberry juice seeped into their shoes and socks dyeing each a bright shade of pink. The team were unaware as they neared the midpoint on the mountain. To reach the top they would need to cross Hell’s Pass. Zelda did not know why it was called that, and feared finding out.

    Zelda walked up to the entrance of Hell's Pass. She felt like she should be shivering of fear, but it was to hot. The team sauntered through the gates, and the temperature jumped 50 degrees up. They noticed a puddle in front of them. The Devil was dead. "There was no point!" ZSed
