T'was a dark and stormy night, as Quilton Graham, a failing author, was quill-writing within his newest book he had commissioned from the village tanner, about the same 'dark and stormy night's that had made his books D-tier, as who was buy a book that has the same cliche start?

“Suddenly, there was the sharp sound of glass breaking.” Graham wrote that line, then heard the same sound in his own home. He started, but heard no more. He wrote “A dog barked, then a woman screamed.” Then he heard both sounds in the same order outside his door!

Graham typed quickly while the commotion grew outside his office. If I just write enough, he thought, maybe this will all go away. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. “Who is it?” asked Graham, slowly taking off his reading glasses.

"It's you," replied the voice. "Me?" said Graham. "Yes, you." Graham opened the door. It was like gazing into a mirror. On the other side of the doorway was himself. "Wait a minute," said Graham, "is this some time travel thing?" "No," said Other Graham. "It's weirder than that."

“We’ve been cloned,” Other Graham explained. “I’ve been searching for you because they’re about to do it again.” “Listen,” Graham said, “I don’t know what you’re playing at, but this isn’t funny.” He stepped back from the doorway. “And besides, who could have possibly done this?”
