Marc and Joline had been friends for many years. Despite long gaps in communication, their reunions felt familiar and comforting as if no time had passed. They quickly fell back into the easy camaraderie that characterized their friendship.

Marc always felt an odd way when it came to Joline hanging out with others. He never stated his feelings, he didn’t want to ruin something so genuine yet. It was hard for Marc to show his feelings.

Even though Marc knew he shouldn’t, the next time Joline came home from a night out he lashed out. “Where have you been? Don’t you know I love you?” Joline recoiled. “You have a strange way of showing it,” she whispered and backed away. “I found the box under the bed.”
