  • The door lets out a low moan of pleasure before the lock clicks open. “Just to warn you, my smart home is set to ‘creepy’.” He shrugged and opened the door, inviting us in.

  • A cold sweat ran down my back as soon as I crossed the threshold into his home. Red and green paisley tapestries covered all of the walls in the hall and a crab shaped sofa was placed in front of one of them. Through the ajar living room door, a machine kept spraying bubbles.

  • At last, I thought to myself, I can end this nightmare for everyone. The music of a slow, drawling waltz issued with the bubbles from the living room. It made me want to run, to hide, but I took a deep breath & rushed into the room. "Lawrence Welk!" I cried, "This ends now!"
