His reflection on the mirror was a sight unbearable to watch. What had he done, he wondered.

“Don’t pretend you don’t know”, his reflection said back to him. “How dare you!”, he whispered. His reflection laughed once. “You had no business driving a ferry boat. Your little whim cost lives, sir! Oh right, walk away. You can avoid mirrors but you can’t avoid yourself!”

Jack ran as quickly as he could from the mirror. How did his reflection know? Even more importantly, how was it able to talk? Jack needed to act fast before the mirror told everyone about the ferry incident. The only person he could think of to help was the shaman down the road.
