No escape

  • Nora was in love with a man that didn’t love her. Yet he was her escape from life, he couldn’t escape her mind no matter how hard she tried. Nora moved to another city, she thought moving around would make her feel better. She attempted to let go of her lover to try to recover.

  • No matter how hard she tried all she could think about was her past moments with the man who she longed for so desperately but she was determined. She promised herself she would settle down and move on from the man that caused her so much suffering and happiness at the same time.

  • She had lots of motivation to keep going, and to move on from what once was. She loved him, but knew that things could’t stay this way.

  • She packed her essentials in a suitcase and took the next train out of town. She used a different name and started a new life. She dyed her hair, changed her hobbies, style of dress, and her livelihood. She was free of him, but there was one thing she couldn’t escape.

  • No matter how far away, his voice lingered—soft, insidious—whispering doubts in her quiet moments. At night she locked the doors and double-checked the windows, but safety never settled in. Freedom, it turned out, wasn’t just distance. It was forgetting. And that hadn’t come yet.
