Toni's dog Goober only obeyed one command: dig! So, Toni told it to dig anytime and anywhere just to show how obedient the dog could be. One day Goober dug too far.

Toni never learnt from her mistakes. That wasn’t the first time she lost Goober. She couldn’t even find Goober within her own house. The dog was a master of disguise. Goober, realising it ended up in Germany, masqueraded as a German shepherd. Can’t be raising any questions.

Goober studied hard and became a seeing eye dog. The most remarkable unrelated fact was that Goober was the only dog in the world who could see color.

He'd always thought of that as an ironic quirk, one that meant that he could never truly be himself. But then his mother said it had been given to him by a man named Dr. Wily, and he believed her so completely it hurt. Now it seemed like everything else he did was given to him

Too much to think about, he realized. If he had learned anything this past week it was to live in the moment. All this introspection made him hungry. Time for dinner! And from now on he would not invite his mother.
