The Angler's Light

Miya slowly walked towards the dark hallway, calling out for Kyle. Tears fell onto the hardwood floor while she felt the wall, disappearing into the darkness. "Kyle this isn't funny anymore! I'm scared!" She called out, sniffling. She then heard a cry from someone other than her

She then realized a pair of sticky cold wet hands was hugging her from behind, so tight that she almost suffocated. When she tried to struggle her way out, she suddenly froze: In front of her, a pale half naked body was hanged upside down. It was Kyle's face ...

but the body attached to it looked nothing like a human's. It was twisted & stiff, almost tree-like, as if someone had pasted Kyle's face onto a thick branch of driftwood. It seeped a brown substance that smelled & felt of maple syrup. After processing it all, she screamed.

It was a lure; and the giant angler began ever so slowly to close its gaping maw. “Oh my god! AAHH! RUN! We have to get out of here now!!” she screamed.

The angler's light glowed brighter and brighter until it blotted out her vision. She sank into the sea, losing all sense of her surroundings when a school of fish buoyed her to the surface, where she was rescued by gulls. She had confronted her fears and would now be rewarded.
