So needless to say

  • The structure sat on the far side of the moon, always facing away from the Earth. It had 12 arms studded with sensors. It listened and watched on every possible frequency. It had been operating for almost 3 centuries before it recorded the first anomaly.

  • A million miles away a lazy transmission room operator lounging in his chair heard a beeping signal from the legacy alert board. He rose with a bewildered expression and sauntered over…he chuckled incredulously upon the “Moon signal” label on the blinking red light…”no way…”

  • The signal was garbled & hummed with static, but under it all flowed a melodic voice backed by blinking synths. "Is that..." the operator muttered to himself, "...someone singing 'Take On Me' by A-ha?" He sat back in his chair & smirked. "He'll never hit the high note."
