Ensuing Unsueing

“It’s been a tough year.” Sue sighed. “A tough few years, honestly. I don’t see it getting better soon, either.” Her friend, standing awkwardly, didn’t know what to say. She patted Sue on top of her head, 3 times. Sue looked up, fire in her eyes.

"You always do this to me, Amy," Sue snarled, "you pet me, treat me like I was a doll. These are real problems I'm talking about, not trifles or inconveniences." Amy still couldn't find any words. She stood, hand about to take the cooling tea on the counter. Sue crossed her arms.

Mary walked in on the unfolding drama. Amy figured some cooling tea would calm Sue’s hot temper. Sue broke the silence. “If you seek Amy,” she said, and pointed to her. “Look, Sue, I just care a lot about you!” “Oh shut it, Amy, you’re no Mary Sue.” “Well sue me, Sue!” Then, Mary

Someone grabs her arm, shocking her back into the presence of the yellow walls. She hated that color. In her fit she threw her fists. "Let go of me! Let go!" But the nurse wouldn't have it, "Take your pills, Jane. If you make this difficult again, we'll bring out the restraints!"

She took the pills. “Good morning sleepyhead” her mother said cheerfully. The curtain flew open. It had all been a dream. “I put your outfit on your bed” her mother said and left the room. Jane turned around to see a yellow shirt and matching pants. Then she heard the door lock.
