It was an ordinary day at the office of the private eye, if it weren't for the fact that my boss was out because of a cold. I wanted to close the office, but no, no, my boss had insisted I at least take in any cases people wanted him to investigate.

...an envelope slid under the door, by the time I got there , they were gone. The envelope had my name on it, so i opened it. It said "Get down, NOW!!!

I scratched my head. How odd. Then a breeze blew the letter to the floor. Over down to pick it up, and a missile roared through the window then right out of the back door. I realized it would have obliterated me if I’d been standing upright. “Thanks, letter!” I whispered.

I opened the envelope & unfolded the paper inside. "You're welcome," read the letter. Such a polite letter, I thought, then folded it & put it in my back pocket. I wanted to keep it with me all the time. And I did. I moved the letter to the back pocket as I daily switched pants.
