  • It was the first real day of spring when Hannah and her brother decided to put their plan into motion. They packed their supplies and rode into town on matching B-1000 black and yellow mountain bikes.

  • They made a quick stop at the general store to get a few more things they knew they would need. They quickly ran in and b-lined it for the hardware aisle.

  • Frantically, they grabbed the heaviest, sharpest tools they could find. A sledgehammer, a shovel, 37 bolts, and some rubber gloves.

  • The group surveyed each other's weapons of choice. All seemed adequate...except the guy in the Cavs jersey with socks and sandals on. He was giggling to himself while saying "leaf blower go brrrrrrr". The rest of the group frowned in unison and started walking north.

  • As they walked, they noticed a nearby restaurant that was incredibly understaffed. Stepping into the busy eatery, they were greeted by an overwhelmed manager. His forced smile couldn't mask his unmistakable exhaustion with beads of sweat sliding down his beard and neck.

  • Nearing dusk, a pale orange fog hung in the air outside. As day surrendered to night a chorus of insects began to sing, but inside things were different. The only sound was the soft hum of fluorescent lights. The manager rushed them to a table across from a gaunt-faced couple.

  • They sat. 'Finally!', she thought while grabbing the menu in desperate search for a stiff drink. As her eyes moved from the menu to the waiter she realized that the guy looked somewhat familiar. 6'4", curly hair, a well groomed mustache, and an Hawaiian shirt. "HOLY....."
