Just when they thought things couldn’t get any worse the climate ended. There was no more globe or wildlife. No trees. Their pollution had finally caught up to them. So they put on their space suits. “Man the battle stations! Fire!” The two ships fired neutron beams at each other

The smog was too dense. The beams missed their targets by yards, corroding against the unseen wasteland. Fools that they were, each crew believed they had obliterated the other ship, & so they sailed around the poisonous world, thinking they alone were humanity's last survivors.
