Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

She was gone, with a puff of dust exploding where she once sat. Jerry then heard a woman’s voice inside of him. “ your dreaming, wake up!”…

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

It was a wrangler fish, with kaleidoscope eyes. It slowly opened its mouth, and a long arm protruded out with a blue diamond.
