The cliff rose up, forbidding and brutal, and it was as if it had been waiting for me.

I’d expected a mountain, but this would have to do. I closed my eyes and imagined a ladder made of ice. When it took too long to form, I abandoned the idea and made a grappling hook instead. I was trying to test it when someone blasted a fireball at me.

Without a conscious thought, an icicle net caught the fireball. It evaporated in a puff of steam. Maybe that was the key-don’t think to hard about it, just react! I laughed and then then quickly rose up to the needed height on an ice platform that rose under my feet. Cold Freeze!
