Into the nest

Im alone in this dark forrest. My car broke down in the middle of nowhere, how did I ended up here? I can only hear the crickets and the wind, oh It’s so chilly. I’m afraid…I need to get back to

the scenic overlook. I think it had a small building next to the parking lot. Maybe my cellphone will work there, or maybe someone can call a tow truck for me. It was just around the corner and up that hill, I think.

I walked over quickly, holding my phone out for a connection. Nothing. I turned and what I saw caught my eye. A glowing light from behind a door filled my heart with determination. I walked over, reaching out for the handle. The second my hand touched it, I was in pain. 'What?'

I could not remove my hand from the handle, because I felt a strong grip from it. As I watched closely, its fingernails was growing into claws, and started to cut into my fingers...

I tried to pull myself free, but those talons were like a vise. I looked up to see a hawk the size of a bear. It lifted me up with the sweep of its wings & deposited me in its nest where I have written this letter. Find my mother & tell her I love her. The eggs are hatching! I f—
