There was once a little lamb in the forest

He trotted along the grass, the cool wind brushing against his fluffy wool. For he was a lamb, yes, but he was also lost, fated to walk in the woods until he found his destined location.

The further he walked on the more lost he felt. Trees began to grow closer and sunlight was barely visible. Only a handful of light could escape through the leafy roof making his path slowly vanishing.

Saliva dried in the corner of his mouth as he slid down under a bare oak tree and looked up. The taste the warmth of the sun on his lips and his skin turning glossy as each tear, crystal and delicate, escaped. Eyelids heavy, the boy dreamt of home.
