Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

He couldn't believe that the person he had been searching for for the last twenty years was now right in front of him.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

The creature, who at first appeared horrifying with its scaly green skin with purple oozing sores, had a gentle voice when it said "Jerry, you need to turn around and stop asking questions, it is for the greater good of humanity".
