Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

She would die in twenty four hours as the prophecy fortold. Jerry had to decide to save her like the cabal wanted or leave her to her fate.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

The prophecy was true and Jerry hated it. It meant the syndicate would win. Humanity was doomed. It was time to leave.
