Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

It couldn’t be true, but it was difficult to believe it wasn’t. Even from a short distance, the red haired woman was a dead ringer for his late wife.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

“Hey!” Shouted the creature. “I think there’s something I need to tell you both. It’s going to make the next few days much easier, but your going to have to buy me a drink first.”
