Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

The woman is too deep in her work. Her hair is long, freckles on her face and wears something more comfortable. She seems very focused on her laptop but there is a hint of stress underneath her focus.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

The woman almost jumps out of her seat. Concern and shocked by the creature. She looks at Jerry and says, "Do you know that this thing is?!"
