All along the western front there was a creature that ate the empty space emanating from the sky

This was the so-called 'Mantis of the End' that the alchemist called Zazie had mentioned. It was a monster that lived between dimensions, a being that fed on the nothingness that existed beyond reality. It was also known as the 'Gap Eater'.

That explains why everything feels so rushed lately. No one has time to pause, to take a breath, to let a joke land. All the gaps have been eaten, all the so-called “spare” time destroyed. Balance must be restored.
