I ran inside, gasping for air. I fixed my hair and skirt, trying to look as professional as possible for the interview. I breathed out and checked in the woman at the desk. She told me to sit and I did. I wrote my name on the stick-on name tag she gave me. 'Mirai.'

  • Another nervous interviewee, James, sat in the seat next to me. He was sweating quite a bit. "Are you nervous for the interview too? My name's Mirai, by the way," I say, holding out my hand. He shakes it, blushing. "Yes, I'm nervous too. The name's James. James Blonde."

Mirai smiled, shrugging her shoulders. "We'll get through it, right?" This guy looks almost as nervous as me. What an odd last name. . I cleared my throat. "So um, what position are you looking for?"

  • James gulped and leaned toward my ear, whispering, "I'm actually a secret agent trying to join to spy on this company and expose their crimes. It would be a good idea for you not to join it, they're really shady and have hurt many people." I was so shocked I fell out of my chair.

I looked at him, my eyes wide. Before thinking, I grabbed his hand and pulled him outside and into my car. "Start talking." I said, taking a note pad out. Sure, trying to get a job is a better idea but also learning stuff that's going on is cool too. "Don't leave anything out!"

  • James stopped his nervous act and suddenly became really cool. He smiled and winked. "Excuse my earlier nervousness, that was all just an act. If you really want to talk, a car seems like a boring place, doesn't it? How about we head to a bar?" I laugh, and we head to the bar.
