Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

As he pondered if the woman was really his long-lost-sister, anxiety welled up in his chest akin to a mop soaking up water.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

The creature was so indescribably horrific, that Jerry knew he had made a mistake. And that was the last time those two were seen again.
