Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

He shook his head, not believing what he was looking at. Then he compared the two again: the photo and the woman. They looked exactly the same.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

The creature pointed to Jerry and the woman, and turned. Light flashed, and when it got back to normal, the creature was gone.
