Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

Aging well was one thing, but no one aged well enough to look *exactly* the same 20 years later.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

Jerry remembered what the Darkbinder had said to him that first time: It’s all fun and games until the thing you call actually responds. He’d dismissed her then, but her voice was the last thing he heard as the creature turned to him, baring its teeth in a terrifying smile.
