Detention 2023: An alien odyssey

It was a rather saddening day when Ethan ended up in detention after a heated argument with his teacher, and his girlfriend had broken up with him an hour before. Poor Ethan just misses hanging out with his best friend Ryan who is too busy with his own girlfriend.

As he sat in the abandoned classroom, Ethan saw a girl walk in, frustrated and upset. "Ugh, why am I always blamed for someone else's doings.." she muttered under her breath. As she walked over to sit at the desk right next to him, Ethan asked, "Why are you in detention?"

The girl looked up at Ethan, anger flashing in her eyes, before she opened her mouth, "...aren't you the kid who always wears the same clothes everyday?"

Oh no. I was supposed to blend in with the humans, but she’d caught on to my true alien self. Humans were so confusing. They wore different clothes everyday but the same pair of eyes? No wonder they could never get a fresh perspective.

I was ready to send a distress signal to the mothership, requesting immediate extraction. Then the human said “What a great costume! Those alien eyes look so grotesque!” How spaceist, and I couldn’t say a word about it.
