When the watcher takes control

Not because of the weather, but because the city had learned how to watch back, and whatever was doing the watching had finally stopped pretending it cared who saw it.

Now there was a massive staredown between the City and the Watcher. They both had huge eyeballs, staring at each other, waiting to see who would make the first move. Suddenly, the Watcher spoke. "You amuse me greatly. Here, have a sunny day." Suddenly the clouds cleared up.

Within 15 minutes all the snow had melted. Within 30 minutes, residents were removing coats, and some were dazed. Within an hour, schools and workplaces emptied as people were enjoying the sudden summer day in the middle of January. The real problems began as the river heated up.

Soon it could be seen in rural areas the bodies of small fish floating about on the surface of the river. As the temperature continued to rise, so did the amount of fish. What was once a tolerable summer climate had started to become unbearable; realization was starting to hit.

The government tried to solve this mess, but it’s already too late. People are begging for a drop of water! Yes, the water in the planet nearly dry! “We have to find a solution!” The President said, he’s afraid, of the people who need solution from making revolution!

The president called Duke Nukem. Duke, we need you to do something, there’s no water, $1 billion if you figure it out. Duke launched from DC, nuke in hand. He smashed it into the North Pole, evaporated the ice, and restarted the rain cycle. Earth and humanity were saved.
