Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

He wondered why she looked so similar… Jerry hesitantly stood up and walked over, placing a hand on her shoulder. “Hey-“

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

“Gagaga?” The creature murmured, tilting its head quietly. Jerry pulled the woman behind him, glaring at the creature. “You will not harm this woman, foul being!” Jerry shouted angrily. The woman looked at him in confusion, “There’s nothing there.”
