Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

The picture was of his old girlfriend, Margret. She had strawberry blonde hair, and deep cheekbones. But she had died in a car crash. Jerry had BEEN there. Then why did that woman look exactly like her?

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

"Hello," The creature smiled evilly. "What do we have here?" "D-don't hurt her!" Jerry threw himself protectively over the woman. "Take me instead!" "Oh I don't think so," The creature smiled again, showing his yellow teeth. With that, he ran behind Jerry, and grabbed the woman.
