Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

Beginning to think this is the right woman. The right woman who is not going anywhere with her husband’s last name still attached.

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

One so big that even if I had the chance to look out the window, but not for the moon like i was before he arrived, because it was not a full moon anymore.
