Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.
The cruelty in her eyes was all that remained. Nothing remained of the austere, draconian pride showcased so well in her photo. Her look now was one of strain, and fear. She was hunted, and her look was that of the hunted.
All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.
Jerry died to the woman’s cruel laughter resounding all around him. She’d seen him from the beginning, just another hunter in a long line to come before
