  • Mr. Nickel and Ms. Penny were both obsessed with their respective coins. Mr. Nickel had a house made of nickels and Ms. Penny had a house made of Pennies. Unfortunately, they were neighbors, and constantly argued with each other over which coin was superior.

  • “Your house isn’t worth a cent!” Bellows Mr Nickel. He was proud of his pun, practiced it all night. “You know what, Mr Nickel?? Here’s 25 pennies, call someone who cares.”Ms. Penny looked on, smug. Regardless of what he practices, Nickel will never compete with Penny’s wit.

  • A driving bass line was heard, approaching the conversationalists. Then the sound of trumpets kicked in. All this talk of houses had summoned the band Madness out of the ether, delivered through the all powerful BBC. They were performing their hit song “Our House”.

  • It was the lyric about children missing their mother "in lots of ways" that brought tears to Andy's eyes. "It's true!" he wept. "I haven't spoken to my mother in 20 years." Kix stopped tooting the sax & mouthed, "Call her." Andy left the impromptu concert & found a phone booth.

  • “Mom?” Andy cooed into the pay phone receiver. “Mom, are you there?” “Yes, baby, I’m here,” his mother assured. “Mom, I’m so sorry. I thought I could do it all. I’m sorry I left you behind just to play jazz badly…” “That’s OK, baby, come home, you’ve done your best.”
