Night Owls

Jerry glanced down at the photograph in his hand, then back up again at the woman sitting alone at the back of the cafe.

There was something familiar about her, although not in a familiar way. A certain look in her eye gave Jerry pause. Still, against his better judgement, he made his way to her table and asked, "It hasn't been great weather, has it?"

All at once a blinding light coursed through the space. Jerry and the woman froze. And then a creature appeared, seemingly from the air itself.

It was a thing of nightmares, but it wasn't their nightmare. The demonic beast began to feast on those who deserved it.
