I woke up again in the middle of the night. It was that nightmare again.

I couldn't remember it but every time I wake up at midnight I get the feeling it is because of the same dream.

And all I can see in my room with the lights out is that painting... That place...

It seems so distant yet close at the same time. Like a far away memory that you hold close to your heart.

I remember it like it was yesterday; we were all posing in front of the artist, maintaining our urges to giggle amidst the strained smiles and awkward silence.

"Take the picture already!" one of us yelled though I don't recall who. The Artist painted us in silence as we strained to keep our pose. It was only five minutes time before the artist stood up, finished with the painting. We waited excitedly to see.

When it was time to take the picture, the photographer told us, “ok everyone, I’m going to count to three and then say cheese, one two three.” “Cheese!”said the whole family.

Sally looked at George and said “Parmesan!”, George burst out laughing, “So cheesy”. The Mother from Swiss heritage was brie side herself, chuckling. To her right, Dad was wheezing, hysterically flapping “That’s a Gouda One”- and the cameraman, “He Camembert it”

I was going to contribute to the cheesy pun game, but I was doubled over, laughing so hard I couldn't breathe… then the pizza arrived and we quietly ate. Pizza was too important, Dad always said, for anything less than one’s full attention. I guess that was enough for one night.
