Heldren had always been the emotionless one.The one who couldn’t feel.No doctor understood it.No employer,no friend,no mentor,and certainly no one who had ever felt like family at his small orphanage.But, no one ever expected such a boy to receive a job offer from the king’s boy.

As the creature studied the photograph it studied the woman as well, almost as if comparing the similarities and differences. It appeared to be her. In the background a frowny-faced young man with two other men, one clown and the other, aloof, but all looking to belong somewhere.

I watched the sky as masses of crows circled around me in the sky.As quickly as it started, it stopped. I looked around to see if anyone had seen it. The same old forest and the same old dirt path. I sighed. No one here. I continued down the path, unbeknownst to what was upon me.

I woke up feel the ache of the loss of my mate. I wasn’t sure how it happened but I knew something wasn’t right. He was right there next to me but I looked over and he wasn’t there anymore. I got out of bed and went down the hall and out the door to find him outside.

I held the shield as close to my chest as possible, and my sword stretching out towards the emperor. His face was barely scratched by the men before me, were they weak? I didn't care, I had to kill this man, who knew what he was to do if I did not end his rule.

Rydel the elf sat on his makeshift bed and tossed and turned in his attempt to fall sleep. “Go to bed, Rydel.” Herein grumbled, half awake.

I wanted to see duck poop but instead I got impaled by a rhino's horn as I was walking down the Savannah. I instantly died, but could see my body underneath me in an out-of-body experience. The rhino shook my dead body with its horn and threw my corpse into the river. It floated.
